As a lifelong learner and a passionate educator, I’ve dedicated my career to helping others discover the beauty and utility of the Spanish language. My journey with Spanish began years ago, and my experience as both a student and a teacher has given me a deep understanding of what it takes to achieve fluency. My method is centered on your success. I combine professional, structured teaching with a genuinely supportive and personalized approach. I believe that learning should be an active, engaging process. My lessons are designed to move you from passive learning to confident, active communication.

About the lesson

As a Spanish tutor, my goal is to make learning the language feel accessible, engaging, and relevant to your life. I believe that language is a living tool, not just a list of vocabulary words and grammar rules. My approach focuses on creating an immersive, supportive environment where you feel comfortable making mistakes and building confidence.

My teaching method is centered around communicative language teaching (CLT). This means we'll spend less time on rote memorization and more time on practical, real-world communication. I also incorporate a scaffolded learning approach, where we build on what you already know, adding new concepts in manageable steps.

A typical lesson with me follows a clear, engaging structure:

Warm-up: We'll start with a quick, informal chat entirely in Spanish. This gets you thinking and speaking in the target language right away and helps us review concepts from our last session.

Targeted Skill Practice: Next, we'll dive into the main topic of the day, whether it's a specific grammar point (like the subjunctive mood) or a vocabulary theme (like travel and giving directions). We'll use a variety of materials, including short videos, articles, dialogues, or even songs, to make the learning dynamic.

Application: This is where we put it all together. We'll engage in a conversation or a role-playing activity that allows you to use the new material in a practical way. For example, if we're learning vocabulary for ordering food, we'll role-play a restaurant scenario.

Wrap-up & Review: We'll end the session with a brief review of what we covered and I'll give you a simple, manageable task to practice on your own before our next lesson.
