About Ben

I still remember the moment ancient history stopped being something I studied and became something I lived. Standing on an archaeological site with my father in Knossos, Crete piecing together the story of people who had walked the same ground thousands of years before me, I understood why these subjects matter — not just academically, but as a window into what it means to be alive and to be human.
I graduated with a degree in Archaeology and Classics before completing my History PGCE, and I've spent my teaching career in the classroom bringing that same sense of wonder to my students every single day. Latin and Ancient Greek aren't dead languages to me — they're living keys that unlock some of the greatest literature, philosophy, and history ever produced. And History isn't just a list of dates; it's the story of every decision, triumph, and mistake that shaped the world we live in today.
But here's the truth: I became a teacher because I believe every student deserves someone in their corner. Someone patient enough to explain it a different way. Someone enthusiastic enough to make a 2,000-year-old text feel exciting. Someone who genuinely celebrates the moment things click.
Going online means I can finally take that passion beyond my classroom walls — reaching students across England who deserve the same energy, care, and personalised teaching I give every day. About the lesson

Bringing years of classroom experience to every session, I specialise in GCSE History, Latin, and Ancient Greek — three subjects where the right teacher makes all the difference. My background in curriculum design means I don't just follow a textbook; I build a learning journey tailored specifically to each student's strengths, gaps, and goals. Whether your child is struggling with Latin grammar, navigating Ancient Greek unseen texts, or trying to make sense of a complex History topic, I create a personalised approach that builds both confidence and results. Every student learns differently — and I've spent my career making sure no one gets left behind.
