About Karen
I am an encouraging tutor with proficient experience in both learning and teaching Mandarin.
I believe that having been learnt Mandarin for 12 years has allowed me to understand students’ thought processes and where students may have questions - therefore being able to explain it in a manner that is easy to understand.
I have taught students that range from Year 2 to Year 13. My students have seen great improvements in both their mandarin skills and their grades.

I am fluent in both English and Mandarin. I have completed both the IB and HSK exams for Chinese proficiency to high standards.
As I am a native English speaker, there will not be any problems due to language barriers within my lessons. I plan out my lessons according to the student’s level of Mandarin.
My lessons are usually 1 hour long; however, timing can be adjusted if needed.
