About Ethan
After graduating from the University of Texas at Austin — and teaching a few seminars and design studios there - then moved to NYC and had a small private practice called [ set ] research + creative, where I contributed to many large scale projects as a digital design consultant (and signed a LOT of NDAs!). My interests started to lean back toward teaching at this point, so I went to Columbia GSAPP and completed a M.S. in Advanced Architectural Design, and then a Master of Architecture in Urban Design at Harvard GSD. At both of these schools I was heavily involved in teaching as well, At Columbia mostly focusing on optimization and the use of algorithmic solvers, while at Harvard I expanded my use of these techniques to the urban scale.
