About ZiWei

Hi, my name is ZiWei - but call me Amira. I'm a huge language nerd (I speak English, Mandarin, French, Spanish and can read Arabic, Korean, and Cyrillic) and am passionate about everything language and culture-related!

I graduated from Harvard University in 2020 with a degree in Neuroscience and a minor in French. Mandarin is my mother tongue, and I'm excited to be able to share my language with you in a fun and relaxed manner (while still learning important vocab and phrases!).

About the lesson

There's no better way to learn a language than by chatting with a native speaker!
My classes are best suited to beginners and intermediate-level learners. They are designed to help you gain confidence and become more comfortable expressing yourself in Mandarin. I have a stereotypical 'news reporter accent' and am easy to understand! :)

Note: lessons are 40-50 minutes long with a 5-minute break in the middle! price is per lesson, not per hour.

Any review I could give Ziwei would fall short. Frankly, she is amazing.
She has really helped me build my self-confidence and speaking skills by being open and encouraging me to ask questions whenever possible. Quite often, she has also engaged with me after noticing that a new exercise or sentence was difficult, asking me to rephrase it in my own words and prompting me to come up with different ways of explaining a concept.
You will be in good hands, enjoy class and learn a lot.
