About Robert
I have a Harvard B.A. and U.C. Berkeley Ph.D. in Chemistry.
I have over 30 years experience teaching chemistry: high school AP chem and college freshman chem.
My first teaching position was at Harvard in 1987.

I believe that every student I teach is a unique learner. When I tutor, I focus on YOUR learning style, YOUR knowledge, and YOUR problem solving skills.
I do not lecture at students. Students learn best by doing: solving problems, asking questions, explaining answers, teaching each other, working together.
Learning chem is messy. I make sure YOU feel comfortable making mistakes in front of me. I don't believe there are any "dumb" questions. I help YOU understand the words, math, and pictures of chemistry. I teach you how to study chem from YOUR class notes, textbooks, and labs. We find the best learning websites and videos like: The E-textbook from UC Davis, Quizlet, and Khan Academy.
We set up YOUR own chem study program. We create YOUR homework schedule for evenings/weekends. We define YOUR goal for the exams, final exam, AP exam, and SAT exam. I help YOU work hard, concentrate, and motivate YOURself EVERY WEEK.
