About Cecilia
My name is Cecilia, and I am passionate about science, teaching, and lifelong learning. As a GVSU graduate and incoming veterinary student at Michigan State University, I understand both the challenges and rewards of mastering difficult subjects. I genuinely enjoy helping students build confidence and achieve their academic goals.
With over two years of tutoring experience, I have worked with students in chemistry, biology, and other science courses at a variety of levels. I strive to create a supportive and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable asking questions, developing critical thinking skills, and gaining a deeper understanding of the material.

I believe the best tutoring starts with understanding each student's individual needs. I begin by identifying where a student is struggling and what concepts are causing confusion. From there, I create a student-led learning environment where the student helps guide the session while I provide explanations, practice, and support.
What sets me apart is that I was in my students' position not long ago. Many science concepts did not come easily to me at first, so I learned how to approach difficult material from different angles. This allows me to provide clear, creative explanations that are tailored to each student's learning style.
I am a Grand Valley State University graduate with over two years of tutoring experience, and I will be attending Michigan State University's College of Veterinary Medicine this fall. I specialize in chemistry, including general chemistry, organic chemistry, and biochemistry, as well as biology subjects such as genetics, ecology, and evolutionary biology.
My lessons are available for middle school, high school, and undergraduate students, especially those pursuing pre-med, pre-vet, nursing, or other health science pathways. I can also help with study strategies, standardized test preparation, and college or graduate school applications.
