About Danny
I was born in Seattle, WA and made my way around the U.S. until landing in Austin, TX (for now). I started playing guitar at 11, and started getting gigs/recording music at 15. Since then, I've played with a variety of bands such as The Sahara Quartet, Indestructible Now, Cazayoux, The Sidepiece Collective, Zoumountchi, The Sahara Allstars, and artists including John Baggott (Robert Plant, Massive Attack, Portishead), Rob Mazurek (Exploding Star Orchestra, Chicago Underground, Pharoah Sanders), Little Ed (Chicago Blues star), Smilin' Bobby (Chicago Blues elder), Mary Lane (Chicago Blues singer), Butch Trucks (drummer of the Allman Brothers Band), Colonel Bruce Hampton (Aquarium Rescue Unit, Hampton Grease Band), Kofi Burbridge (Tedeschi Trucks Band), and more.
In addition to that, I've studied guitar with Dave Manley (Herbie Hancock, Jill Scott, Erykah Badu), Mike Stern (Miles Davis, Brecker Bros, Jaco Pastorius), Tim Miller (Mick Goodrick, Randy Brecker, George Garzone), Norm Zocher (Jerry Bergonzi, Bob Moses, Esperanza Spalding) and many other great players.
I offer guitar lessons for all ages and am familiar with many different musical styles, including rock, blues, jazz, funk, and more.

My approach is based on the goals of each individual student. I do my best to use what I've learned over the years to create the right lesson for each person. I try to keep everything relevant to every student's personal goals, and I am never bothered if someone doesn't like something or wants to do things differently. In other words, every student is the captain of their own ship, and I am just an advisor helping to guide them on their way to a better understanding of the guitar.
Below is a list of some subjects we can cover, but keep in mind that if there is something you don't want to spend time on, we can always do things differently. Some of the possibilities are:

This first lesson offered with Danny will allow you to get to know each other and clearly specify your needs for your next lessons.

Details
For the first lesson, I offer a free 30 min online consultation where we discuss your goals, skill level, etc. All subsequent lessons are 1 hour and priced at $60 per hour, unless other arrangements are made in advance.
If you can't make it to a scheduled lesson, please give me at least 24 hours notice by text, email, or phone call. If we don't cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours in advance, the website may charge you 50% of the lesson price. Exceptions can be made for emergencies, sudden illness, unexpected circumstances, etc. Make-up lessons are encouraged!
