About Reese

My passion for guitar began through hands-on exploration of different musical styles, which inspired me to pursue a B.Mus in Guitar Performance and an M.Mus in Applied Music. Over 8 years of teaching, I have guided students of varying skill levels, helping them develop technique, musical understanding, and confidence. I approach teaching with patience and enthusiasm, adapting lessons to individual learning styles and goals. I emphasize healthy technique, effective practice habits, and creative exploration to ensure sustainable progress. Outside teaching, I remain active in performance, collaboration, and ongoing musical study. Teaching guitar is fulfilling because I see students transform practice into expressive music, building confidence and creativity that extends beyond the instrument.

About the lesson

Guitar lessons are most effective when students understand how technique and musical expression complement each other. My lessons focus on hand positioning, chord transitions, scale fluency, rhythm accuracy, and tone control. I guide learners to connect physical movement with sound, helping them play comfortably and expressively. Each lesson is structured to be engaging and motivating, encouraging consistent improvement.

Beginner students focus on basic chords, strumming patterns, finger coordination, and simple melodies. Intermediate learners develop scale patterns, fingerstyle techniques, improvisation, and stylistic versatility. Advanced students refine tone shaping, advanced repertoire, performance preparation, and expressive interpretation. Lessons include demonstrations, guided practice, and constructive feedback to support growth.

Guitar lessons also build discipline, creativity, and attentive listening. Students learn to interpret music independently, experiment with sound, and perform with confidence. My goal is to help learners enjoy the guitar while developing skills that support lifelong musical expression.
