About Brenda
Music theory provides the map but your ears must drive the car. I confess that I find rigid academic structures boring. My BA Musique populaire informs how I teach scales, modes, and grade exam prep to kids and adults.
We strip away the unnecessary noise to focus on what makes a guitar player sound distinct. You will find my teaching style reflects the same chill energy found in a late night club set. Whether you are holding a guitar for the first time or prepping for a formal assessment, we will move at a pace that keeps you engaged. Keep practicing and stay tuned for your next session.

Playing music in the Montreal folk scene for 13 years started as a way to pay rent. I admit that I struggled with theory early on. My BA Musique populaire from UQAM eventually filled those gaps.
I have 5 years of experience teaching others now. Over 198 students have joined my studio since I started.
I focus on electric technique, blues progressions, and songwriting. Tuning and maintenance are also key parts of my approach. I keep things grounded and practical. You will learn to play with real grit and confidence.
