About Henry
Fingerpicking patterns and blues progressions are the foundation of what I teach in my Chicago studio. Does the idea of mastering barre chords sound more like a chore than a musical goal? I graduated from Berklee and spent 9 years refining a style that balances raw rock energy with structured technique. My approach avoids theory manuals until you have already played a few scales.
I spend my days helping returning learners and grade exam candidates find their sound. It is truly satisfying work. I love seeing the moment when the fretboard finally makes sense.

Admittedly, the first time you try a complex power chord shape it feels incredibly awkward. We skip the dry textbooks to get you playing Hendrix or Mayer riffs immediately. You will find that these sessions prioritize hands-on experimentation over endless lecture.
I provide a practice module with every lesson to keep momentum high between our meetings. Because I studied at Berklee, I can translate technical theory into practical strumming patterns and ear training exercises. Adults and hobbyists alike enjoy this focus on active musicianship.
You will walk away with a recording of what we built together. It makes the whole process feel much more like a jam session than a rigid class.
