About Kosmas

My name is Kosmas and I am a friendly, patient and professional guitar, ukulele, bass and music theory teacher based in west London. I am capable of teaching in different styles and I am specializing in Rock,Blues, Country and Fingerstyle guitar. Experienced teaching students of different ages and able to find the right method for the student to improve on the instrument.

I first started teaching guitar in 2011 with the desire to train my students to improve and master their guitar playing and to be good musicians.During my career I have worked hard to be consistent so I can do the best I can, to be technically proficient and to be efficient in my preparation of the next concert. And these are the aspects that I am working together with my students so that they can stand out in the world of music business.

-Preparing students for their ABRSM, Trinity guitar, music theory and Rock School guitar exams

All levels of guitarists and ages are welcome. During the lessons you will learn:

BEGINNERS

-all the basic things you need to know to make a solid start in the guitar world

-your first scales and chords

-how to play your favourite songs

INTERMEDIATE STUDENTS

- how to build up your technique, phrasing and how to improve your soloing skills with the help of arpeggio and speed exercises

- scales and chords all over the fingerboard

- your favourite songs and how to jam along with your friends

ADVANCED STUDENTS

- how to master your technique with advanced arpeggio and speed exercises

- the things you need to know to stand out in your field

SPECIAL GUITAR COURSES

I offer two special courses for advanced guitarists:

1) Fingerstyle guitar course:

Have you ever seen a solo guitarist/singer/songwritter in a show playing the guitar with fingers and you have wondered how he/she can get this complete sound out of only a single guitar? Or maybe an old blues artist and you are fascinated with his unorthodox and raw guitar playing?
If this makes you wonder how it’s done and you want to get yourself into the world of learning how to play these sounds on your guitar then you will need to get yourself into the world of fingerstyle guitar.And therefore this course is created for you.

Dividing it into two sections in this course, we will first examine the fundamentals of the fingerstyle guitar.We will examine together all you need to know and what to practise in order to get in a good shape and feel confident of applying this to your playing. Then we will go deeply in the main theme of the course which is the Country/Blues fingerstyle. You will learn how to play various blues styles derived from different Southern state regions. And furthermore how to use different techniques and get the nice sound out of your blues. Being aware and confident of playing and improving your technique on these styles can establish you not only as a good country/blues guitarist but it will improve your skills as a good all around guitar player, too.

This course is ideal for advanced guitarists that want to be introduced/improve further on this specific section of guitar playing. Let’s get down with this!

2) Rock/Blues guitar

Are you a big fan of blues music and you would like to learn and master the sounds that you hear from your favourite bluesman on the guitar?Then this course is ideal for you.

We will be entirely focusing on learning and mastering your guitar playing in the blues and rock genre. We will examine all the different forms of the genre that is essential to learn: from the old style and 1940’s electric Chicago blues to the 1960’s-1970’s British revival era style and up to date modern style that has evolved from the previous ones.You will learn all the important scales, arpeggios and techniques that are essential to make the good blues tone out of your guitar while at the same time we will give a good time on improving your improvisation skills and for that purpose we will be jamming all the blues forms and licks that you will learn
together.

This course is ideal for advanced guitarists that want to improve and specialise on this specific style of guitar playing. Let’s get down with this!
