About Valentine

I am Valentine, a science-focused student currently learning Biology, Chemistry, Maths and Further Maths as A Levels.
I know that science can be a difficult subject, especially if teachers at school make the subject feel complicated. However, I can give you personalised and efficient teaching to ensure that you get the best grades possible. Science is a very interesting topic, and my lessons will include fun little facts about each topic to help build your knowledge.
In my GSCES, I obtained a Grade 9-9 in Combined Science, but I can also teach students studying triple science as I have extended knowledge of each topic. I also have a GSCE Grade 8 in Mathematics and also a Grade 8 in GSCE Statistics.
I also have over 6 months experience working with children so that I can make my lessons as enjoyable as possible, in a safe and encouraging environment.

About the lesson

Hello! I am Valentine, an enthusiastic A Level student currently studying Chemistry, Biology, Maths and Further Maths A Levels.
I am very passionate about sciences and would love to inspire younger students to be more confident in science, especially Biology and Chemistry.
I have a attained a Grade 9-9 in my Combined Science GSCE and am very familiar with the subject and mark schemes, which I believe is important when answering GSCE science questions.
I can teach 1 hour long lessons, but would also be interested in longer/shorter lessons if needed by the student/parents.

A typical lesson from me would start with some exam questions for the student to complete for 5-10 minutes, related to the topic that will be taught during the session. I will then discuss the student's answers and understand how familiar they are with the topic, explaining any wrong answers or answering questions.
The main activity will be reviewing notes on the topic, focusing on the student's weaker areas. I will also include short questions during the activity to check the student's understanding.
The last 10 min will be dedicated to harder exam questions to apply the lesson to real-life questions that may be found on the paper. I will also be able to answer queries at this time.

My lessons are mostly aimed for students in Year 9-11, who will be getting ready to sit their GSCE exams. However, I am willing to teach anyone in Year 7-8 too if requested. I also have over 6 months experience working with children so my classes will help build your child's confidence as well as their skills in science, in a supportive and fun environment!
