My name is Lee Railey, and my approach as a tutor centers on student-centered, active learning specifically tailored for students navigating algebra, geometry, trigonometry, and calculus. Rather than relying on passive lecturing, I use techniques like scaffolding to break down complex proofs and formulas into manageable steps, alongside the Socratic method to build true mathematical critical thinking. A typical 60-minute lesson begins with a 5-minute warm-up and homework review, followed by 20 minutes of concept introduction using real-world visual anchors, 20 minutes of guided problem-solving, 10 minutes of independent mastery, and a final 5-minute wrap-up for feedback.
