My Approach as a Tutor
Teaching Method and Techniques
I use a learner-centered teaching approach, where lessons are adapted to the student’s learning pace, needs, interests, and prior knowledge. I use clear explanations, real-life examples, discussions, demonstrations, guided practice, and interactive activities to make lessons engaging and easier to understand. I encourage students to ask questions, participate actively, and learn from their mistakes.
Typical Lesson Plan
I follow the 5E to 7E instructional model depending on the topic and learner’s needs. Lessons generally include Elicit/Engage, Explore, Explain, Elaborate, Extend, and Evaluate. I begin by connecting the topic to the learner’s prior knowledge, guide them through activities and discussions, explain key concepts, provide opportunities to apply their learning, and assess their understanding through exercises or feedback.
What Sets Me Apart as a Tutor
I aim to be more than just a teacher—I want to be a friendly mentor, a go-to teacher, and a guide. I create a supportive environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and making mistakes. I am patient and willing to explain concepts in different ways until the learner fully understands them.
Who My Lessons Are For
I am particularly fond of teaching elementary to senior high school students. I can adapt my lessons according to their grade level, learning abilities, academic goals, and specific needs. As a graduating Bachelor of Physical Education (BPEd) student, I have particular interest and experience in Physical Education, Health, academic research, and developing students’ confidence and learning skills.
