About Khadijah
During sixth form, I had no idea what I wanted to do in university. After a lot of work experience in Year 12, I decided to pursue medicine. During my time at university, I have found that I really enjoy children's medicine (paediatrics), and helping others learn. I've been tutoring for over seven years, and think it is a great way to help others achieve the best grades, so that they are able to keep their options open about what they want to do in future. If you achieve your best results now, it helps to keep all the doors open into different careers.
I frequently volunteer at a children's hospital, and have completed a Masters degree in Law and Ethics. I really enjoyed doing something that is different to science. I think a really important aspect of studying is to be able to enjoy what you do and where the studying will lead you to; whether that's into a college/sixth form, or into a university you've chosen.

I have always believed that the best approach to teaching goes beyond the actual topics that you need to learn for the syllabus. It is also about learning about your exam techniques and improving on these. This includes skills such as time management, organisation, revision techniques and so on. When I tutor, I always incorporate these things into the sessions.
I also think it's really important to aim high, and never underestimate yourself. By going into an exam with confidence, and having revised to the best of your ability alongside tutoring sessions to help solidify what you need to know, it should help you to achieve your goals.
Progress would be measured by little quizzes along the way, to make sure everything we cover during the session can be remembered. If there's anything the student forgets, we can easily recap it. If a student is able to explain the concept and briefly summarise the lesson back to me, I think this is the best way to make sure they understand.
