About Semyon
As a Medical Physics Postdoc at UCL, I have a deep, fundamental understanding of my subjects. I don’t just teach students how to pass exams; I want them to see why these topics are fascinating and how they work in the real world. I truly enjoy the challenge of breaking down complex ideas into something clear and engaging for anyone.
Having spent my career teaching myself complex, unfamiliar areas across science and medicine, I know that true mastery comes from curiosity. I favour a heuristic method: I encourage students to pose deep questions about a topic before we dive into the data. This develops a genuine interest and a stronger conceptual "hook" for new information.
My goal isn't just to help you pass an exam, but to help you understand the fundamental "why" behind the subject.

I offer tailored lessons both online (globally) and in person (London). My approach focuses on active learning: we start by tackling problems and asking targeted questions to pinpoint specific knowledge gaps. By helping students identify exactly what they don’t understand, we can build a solid foundation for mastering the topic.
Lessons are flexible, ranging from 45 minutes to 2 hours, depending on the student's needs. Whether you are studying at secondary school or navigating university-level coursework, I provide the structure and support to help you succeed.
I can also provide limited tutoring in these topics in the Spanish language.
