About Francesca

I moved to London as soon as I finished high school, believing I would be back in six months. Instead, I stayed for five years, during which I worked as a waitress, attended an English course, with attached IELTS and CAMBRIDGE test, did a curation course at Sotheby's Institute and finally, I enrolled in university. I earned my BA in Art History from Goldsmiths College. After that, I moved to Turin to take a scriptwriting course at the Scuola Holden. At the moment I am working on my writing projects for the cinema.
During these years I have been able to explore various aspects of the English language. For example, language learning for the purpose of exams such as IELTS and CAMBRIDGE. This type of study deals with specific knowledge and strategies in its own right of the test, mechanisms that once understood are easy to put into practice successfully.
At university, I deepened academic and formal language, writing research essays, while in the workplace and in everyday life I practiced spoken and informal language, gaining a total command of the language.
English it has always been a passion of mine, from when I left for study holidays in the UK or USA, up to the choice of living in London, where it has become my main language. Sharing my knowledge, hoping to convey the fun and exciting part of the language, without neglecting its grammatical bases, is my goal.

About the lesson

Taking a cue from my personal experience of learning the language, I believe that in addition to knowing the basic grammar, a fundamental step is that of conversation. Dissolving the spoken language makes the approach to the language more dynamic and facilitates learning as it stimulates safety, encouraging progress. Therefore, I pursue an approach that is based simultaneously on knowledge of grammar and spoken conversation. By doing this, the learned theory can be put into practice immediately.
The lessons are aimed at everyone, whatever the starting level. Once you have established what it is, you can decide how to proceed and what to focus on, taking into account the student's requests (e.g. I want to improve pronunciation, I have to learn basic grammar, I want to practice my accent, know the idioms or expand my vocabulary)
Together, we will establish areas of interest, goals to be achieved, learning preferences, etc.
We will carry out monthly check-ups to establish the level of progress and achievement of the objectives.
Everything will take place in a friendly and informal atmosphere, which does not lose seriousness and dedication.
The English language is a passion for me and teaching it is a pleasure.
