About Anika

I am an extroverted and kind-hearted teenage girl who enjoys working with others. I am good at understanding people’s needs and emotions, which allows me to support and communicate with them effectively. I am also adaptable and able to adjust my approach to suit different personality types.
Through my experience in various leadership positions, I have developed strong communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. These roles have taught me how to be open-minded, responsible, and patient, especially when guiding or supporting others. I am approachable, empathetic, and willing to learn, which helps me build positive and respectful relationships with those around me.

I teach 6 to 15-year-olds (grade 1 to 9). Math, Chemistry, and Nutritional food sciences are my strengths.
1) Diagnose Before Teaching
I never jump straight into teaching.
I'll ask a few simple questions or give a short task
firstly I will identify what they already know then following by where they get confused and whether the issue is content, skills, or confidence. My goal is to teach the right thing, not everything.
2) Kids get overwhelmed easily. One concept at a time. I use simple language to explain the question to them and use everyday examples so the student can relate more easily. If they still struggle I use Visuals/diagrams/analogies.
3) The I Do, We Do, You Do keeps lessons structured and effective.
I Do: You explain and model the answer
We Do: Solve one together
You Do: They try independently (with support if needed)
The goal is to gradually build independence and not spoon-feed.
4) Asking Guiding Questions (Not Just Give Answers)
Instead of telling, I lead them to the answer.
Examples:
“What does the question want?”
“Which step comes first?”
“What happens if we change this?”
This builds thinking skills and exam confidence.
5) Positive Reinforcement (Very Important)
Kids shut down quickly if they feel “bad at it”.
I Praise effort, not just correctness
Correct gently
I believe in growth mindset, not fear of mistakes.
6) Don’t give too many questions at the start of new topics
Start easy → medium → exam-style
I Mix:
Guided practice
Independent practice
I will Review mistakes together
Quality > quantity.
7) End With a Mini Recap
I always close the lesson properly.
Asking:
“What did you learn today?”
“Which part was hardest?”
Summarizing in 2–3 key points
I give a reasonable amount of homework for the student to try out. This locks learning into memory.
I tutor for an hour. For the timings and days please contact me through WhatsApp.
