About Karen
As a mother of two and a lifelong Wisconsin resident, I understand firsthand the hopes parents have for their children’s success and confidence in learning. With 23 years of experience in the public school system, I have dedicated my career to helping students grow—not just academically, but personally. My greatest joy as an educator has always been witnessing those powerful “aha” moments, when a student conquers a challenge or masters a skill they once thought was out of reach. Those moments build confidence, curiosity, and a belief in themselves that lasts far beyond the classroom. I am especially passionate about working with students who need extra support and encouragement. Through patience, personalized instruction, and genuine care, I help students expand their skills, discover their strengths, and develop a deeper understanding of both themselves and the world around them. My goal as a tutor is to create a supportive, positive learning environment where every student feels capable, motivated, and proud of their progress.

My students gain the greatest level of achievement through a combination of direct instruction and real-life examples to work with. My lesson plans are designed to meet the students where they are academically and as a person. The lessons focus on their strengths while supporting skills that are still being developed. Through my tutoring, students will gain confidence in themselves academically as a student and as an individual, which then transcends into their personal and academic achievement. I work with students who are at an elementary level of learning up to grades 6 and 7 (age is not a factor) in the subjects of reading, writing, and math.
