About Bhakti

I have a strong interest in molecular biology, especially in plants. Understanding how DNA works and interacts is very interesting to discuss and share, with its myriad potential for human life. My professionalism can be proven from several research activities I have done. My final project during my bachelor's degree was related to the molecular characterization of a fungus that causes tomato plant disease. The thesis I developed for my master's degree was related to the analysis of gene expression levels in several mutant plants to better understand the mechanism of Post-Transcriptional Gene Silencing in Plants. After graduating, I worked at a Jakarta-based distributor of Illumina Next Generation Sequencing technology to open access to the Indonesian population to enjoy the sophistication of Next Generation Sequencing technology. Currently, I am pursuing a doctoral education at the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), Doctor of Biology, exploring the great potential in the field of genomic regulators such as small RNA (miRNA) in woody plants. I offer discussion topics in the fields of biotechnology, molecular biology, genetics, cells, heredity and evolution at various levels (including high school).

About the lesson

My courses offer the sharing of the latest technology, basic knowledge, and updates in molecular biology, particularly multi-omics, genetics, gene regulators, bioengineering, gene editing, and more. My teaching method involves guided discussions, which serve as educational partners, with customizable durations. There are no specific level requirements; high school and upper-level students interested in biotechnology, molecular biology, genetics, cells, heredity, and evolution are welcome to participate.
