I've been there, you have spent hours upon hours trying to learn a concept but to no avail. Its frustrating and upsetting and you want to throw your math textbook out the window. I felt like that numerous times and yes I have thrown my textbook out the window. What doesn't work is doing problems just to get a solution. There isn't true understanding in that. I want to be able to teach students the reason WHY they are solving the problem and how they can use it in their everyday lives.
