About Ana
This is my second career. I went back to school in my 40s to get my teaching degree. I’m a full-time tutor who loves math. I also like nature, reading, and my dog. I am from Colombia and I speak fluent Spanish.

I always try to start with what the student needs at the moment. Whether they have homework that’s due or whether they’re preparing for a test. I use Zoom and a whiteboard. It works great. I can do graphs and geometric figures.

All my life I've been excellent at math, but when I started taking Algebra, i was getting D's and F's on homework assignments... the first time in my life! it was very hard to understand why. Ana Maria spent several days going over the problems and explaining how to do it, and why. Well, I got an A on the final and passed the class with a B!!!
It was amazing... This was over 30 years ago... and I still remember the feeling of understanding and the aha moment. Ana Maria was able to clearly explain the way I needed in order to understand the why, how to work out problems so that I could do it on my own.
I highly recommend Ana as an exceptional math educator. She engage students with clear instruction, creative problem-solving, and a passion for mathematics. A dedicated professional.
