About Megan

I’m Megan , an MBA candidate at Cornell’s SC Johnson College of Business with a passion for finance, venture capital, and strategic growth. With a foundation in strategy consulting at Accenture, I’ve built strong skills in market analysis, digital transformation, and investment evaluation. Currently, I co-lead Gorges Ventures, an investment club I co-founded to support Cornell’s entrepreneurial community.

Outside of work and academics, I’m an active runner, recently completing the Brooklyn Half Marathon, and a volunteer at Rescue City, where I enjoy giving back to the community. I also love creating art through ceramics, staying active with pilates, and exploring new places whenever I can. I’m always eager to connect with others who share a curiosity for business, innovation, and making an impact!

About the lesson

As a tutor, I focus on making complex concepts accessible and relatable, drawing on real-world applications to deepen understanding and engagement. My teaching approach is interactive and personalized; I assess each student’s unique strengths and areas for growth, then adapt my methods to suit their learning style. I emphasize critical thinking and problem-solving skills, helping students not only master the material but also build confidence in applying it independently.

In a typical lesson, I start by reviewing previous material to reinforce retention, then introduce new concepts through practical examples. We work through exercises collaboratively, with me providing guidance and strategies for tackling similar problems in the future. Each session includes time for questions and clarification, ensuring that students feel comfortable and supported every step of the way.

What sets me apart as a tutor is my background in strategy consulting and venture capital, where I’ve honed analytical skills and gained insights into how subjects like finance, economics, and business theory are applied in professional settings. This experience allows me to illustrate concepts with real-world scenarios, bridging theory with practice.

I primarily tutor undergraduate and high school students in subjects like business, economics, finance, and related areas. My lessons are ideal for those who want a deeper understanding of the material, whether for academic success or career preparation.
