About Yiqi

Hi there, I'm Yiqi (pronounced Yi-chi) from Shenzhen, China, originally. Great to meet you!

Why do we learn? This is a question I constantly ask myself. I think a partial answer is that we learn to understand the world a little better.

My interest in learning began when I opened an Economics textbook in my high school AP Economics class. The author, Dr. Mankiw, a famous economist, asks a simple question: "Why study Economics?" He answered in a similar fashion of "Economics can help you understand why LeBron James can earn more than 40 million a year, and why the US and China are some of the superpowers in the world." You see, these are facts we know, but Economics and other subjects give us the skills and framework to theorize the "why" behind them.

In College, driven by my curiosity about how the world works, I majored in Economics and Data Science. It's fair to say the more you learn, the more you know how much you don't know! But I can guarantee the learning journey will be one of the most fulfilling experiences of your life.

My lessons are for high school or middle school students interested in pursuing a quantitative or social science program in the future.
