Teaching Method and Techniques
My teaching approach is student-centered, flexible, and focused on building understanding rather than memorization. I begin by identifying the student’s current level and learning style, then adapt my instruction to meet their needs. I use a mix of direct instruction, guided practice, and questioning strategies to help students actively engage with the material. I also incorporate real-world examples and checks for understanding throughout the lesson to ensure concepts are truly being grasped. Classroom experience as a substitute teacher has strengthened my ability to manage different learning environments and adjust instruction on the spot when needed.
Typical Lesson Plan
A typical lesson begins with a short warm-up or review of previous material to activate prior knowledge. Next, I introduce the day’s objective in a clear and simple way so students understand what they are learning and why it matters. I then model the concept step-by-step, followed by guided practice where we work through examples together. After that, students complete independent practice while I circulate and provide support. I end each lesson with a quick check for understanding or summary activity to reinforce learning and identify any areas that need more attention.
