About Rachel
I am a multi-instrumentalist and musical director originally hailing from Germany, having now lived in the UK since 2017. I began with exclusively classical training, and eventually broadened to musical theatre and jazz. I now predominantly work in MT-related fields, however I also have experience composing and producing for straight theatre, film, pop, and electronic music.

I aim to teach the principles of music theory from a diverse perspective, allowing students to understand a variety of different genres of music, rather than exclusively pre-1900s Western classical music. I view the ultimate goal of theory to be that a student will be able to listen to a piece of music once and immediately be able to transcribe and/or join in with the ensemble.
I can also prepare students for theory exams such as ABRSM, if this is something the student would appreciate.
I recommend 30 or 45-minute lessons for beginners, and 45 or 60-minute lessons for intermediate to advanced students, however I leave this to the discretion of the student.
