About Sydney
I grew up in Los Angeles and trained at the Debbie Allen Dance Academy and the Los Angeles High School for the Arts. After high school I attended Fordham University and attained my BFA in dance through the Fordham/ Alvin Ailey BFA program. My senior year of college I was offered a contract with Dallas Black Dance Theatre’s second company, DBDT: Encore! As a teacher I use my foundational training, college training, as well as my professional experience to cultivate a healthy learning environment for my students. I absolutely love teaching and it is my mission to give my students the best dance education as possible. I am strict but I love to have fun as long as we’re still getting the job done.

As a teacher I focus on training students to have strong technique combined with an individual artistic voice in every style I teach. My classes are high energy and I do my best to make learning fun while maintaining serious focus on my students’ progress. I understand that every student learns differently so my private classes are catered to each dancer’s individual needs. I love dance and it brings me great joy to impart my knowledge of the art on anyone who wants to learn.
