About Kal
I am a second-year graduate student studying at Purdue University in the Biological Sciences department. I graduated in 2023 with a BS in Biological Sciences, a BA in Creative Writing, and a minor in Psychological Sciences. At university, I work primarily with an introductory biology course of 300+ students! I have a lot of experience teaching biology 1-on-1. I started tutoring in my first year of university and I have continued to teach since then.

My approach as a tutor is to create individualized and personalized lesson plans that take into account an individual student's strengths and weaknesses, learning style, and other commitments. A typical lesson plan includes preparatory materials, exploring context, answering questions, and a wrap-up reflection/assessment, so students can gauge their progress in understanding.
I have experience working with K-12 through undergraduate students and I am happy to work with any students that fall into that range.
