About Carlos
Hello, I am Carlos ! I recently graduated from Rice University with a double major in Sport Medicine and Sport Management. During my time as an undergrad, I took challenging stem-heavy courses such as physics, chemistry, math and statistics. I know firsthand just how difficult some of these courses can be. I was inspired to pursue opportunities to help others that may need assistance in courses that I took. As an undergrad, I had the chance to perform as a TA for one of the statistics courses that I performed well in. I was in charge of guiding 15 students in their homework and answering any questions they had regarding course content. This course covered normal distributions, probability, sample testing, and factorial ANOVA among other topics.
I am a native Spanish speaker and love the opportunity to help others learn the beautiful language. As my first language, I am comfortable assisting others in reading, writing, and speech comprehension.
I strive to utilize my knowledge that I have acquired over the years to help others succeed in their courses. I hope that through my lessons, students walk away with a better understanding of complicated concepts, and feel confident in their ability to perform great on homework and exams.

My tutoring reflects my ability to adapt and adjust to the student's needs. I love to incorporate fun and interactive methods to introduce new concepts. I believe a big part of the learning process is allowing the student (with guidance of course) to work through problems on their own and allowing them to trial and error their way to solutions. I personally enjoy going through the concept in a way that is slow enough for the student to understand (which at times this may seem tedious), however, I am always looking for ways to improve my tutoring and lesson plans in order to best fit the student's needs.
