My teaching approach is deeply rooted in blending formal academic structure with practical, communicative application. What sets me apart is the combination of a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) degree—with specialisations in English and Economics—alongside comprehensive 420-hour TEFL and 150-hour TESOL certifications. This means I don't just guide conversations; I understand the pedagogy behind language acquisition, cognitive development, and curriculum design. My methodology is goal-oriented and highly adaptable, focusing on maximising student speaking time, achieving clear communicative objectives, and providing constructive, real-time error correction without interrupting the flow of learning.
I am a near native English speaker and specialise in teaching English across various proficiencies, from General English to highly focused Business English and IELTS exam preparation. Furthermore, drawing on my academic background, I am fully equipped to tutor Economics in English. I am also a native Afrikaans speaker.
Students can expect a highly structured yet warm, patient, and engaging environment. A typical lesson begins with a brief, conversational warm-up to build rapport and confidence. We then transition into the target material—whether that involves breaking down complex Economics concepts, practising IELTS speaking modules, or role-playing corporate Business English scenarios.
