About Mkaya
Having worked with children and young people for over a decade, I am equipped with a powerful agility to relate to and communicate meaningfully with a diverse range of young people. My rich background and love for literature have enabled me to provide a unique learning experience to my students. My academic background is widely varied and my hunger for knowledge motivates me to continue learning. I believe learning is our greatest privilege, and feel honoured to be granted the opportunity to participate in and contribute to a young person's learning journey. I hope to help them find the joy in studying literature and the opportunity it provides in opening a young person's world to a wealth of diverse history, opinions, and experiences.

My rich background and love for literature have enabled me to provide a unique learning experience to my students. My one-hour classes deploy a mix of teacher-led discussions, prompting literary analysis, and the Thoughts-Questions-Epiphanies method (TQE). The latter encourages students to devise their own questions and discussion points, encouraging individual critical thinking - their most valuable skill in literary analysis. I usually tutor GCSE and A-level students, but please don't hesitate to contact me for KS2 enquiries.
