About Emma
Hi! I’m a friendly and enthusiastic medical student with a strong academic background and a real passion for helping others learn. I achieved a Mathematics Prize during high school and graduated from McGill University with a Bachelor of Science with Distinction. I have around six years of tutoring experience and love seeing students go from feeling frustrated by math to feeling confident and capable. I’m patient, approachable, and happy to explain things in different ways until they click. Whether you want to catch up, improve your grades, prepare for an exam, or simply feel more confident in math, I’ll work with you to make learning enjoyable and achievable!

I take a patient, personalised approach to tutoring, adapting each lesson to the student’s level, learning style, and specific areas of difficulty. I focus on building a strong understanding of mathematical concepts rather than relying on memorisation, using clear explanations, worked examples, and guided practice before allowing students to tackle problems independently.
Lessons are typically 1 hour long and can be adapted depending on the student’s age and needs.
I have around six years of experience tutoring children and have also worked as a swimming instructor for children aged 2–14, developing strong communication, patience, and teaching skills. I have a strong academic background in mathematics, having received a mathematics prize during high school and graduated from McGill University with a Bachelor of Science with Distinction.
I am happy to work with students from primary through secondary school level, including those looking to improve their confidence, strengthen their foundations, or prepare for exams.
