About Owen

I’m a dedicated Maths tutor with a strong academic background and a passion for helping students unlock their potential. With a degree in Mathematics & Economics from Lancaster University and over two years of tutoring experience, I have guided students towards achieving higher grades and greater confidence in their studies. My approach is professional but supportive — I believe that every student can succeed with the right guidance, encouragement, and structure. Having also spent seven years coaching and working with young people, I know how to create an engaging learning environment that feels safe, positive, and motivating. Outside of tutoring, I’m passionate about calisthenics and handstand training. These practices have taught me the importance of patience, consistency, and breaking challenges down into small steps — the very same principles I bring into my teaching to help students achieve lasting success.

About the lesson

My Approach I break concepts down into simple steps, using examples and practice questions tailored to each student’s learning style. I focus on building both understanding and confidence, so students don’t just memorise but can apply what they’ve learned. Lessons often include exam-style questions to prepare students for the real thing. Lesson Structure A typical lesson is 60 minutes, though I also offer 90-minute sessions for deeper topics or exam prep. Each lesson begins with a quick recap to identify strengths and areas to improve, followed by guided practice and independent problem-solving. I provide feedback and study strategies to keep progress moving between sessions. My Experience & Qualifications Degree in Maths & Economics from Lancaster University. 2 years tutoring experience with proven results in boosting grades and confidence. Over 7 years coaching and working with young people, so I know how to keep lessons engaging and supportive. Who I Teach GCSE and A-Level Maths students preparing for exams.
