About Sage
My name is Sage and I have had a passion for teaching for quite a while. I am currently pursuing my Master's in English and will more than likely go for my PhD when I am finished. In the end, I'd like to eventually become a professor. As of now I have been a private tutor for around four years now. However, I have been tutoring since I was in high school through self-employment. So, I have a significant amount of experience when it comes to tutoring others in regards to English. Because of this, I feel that I am pretty comfortable working with students who happen to need a little extra help.

Hello everyone,
My teaching methods are simple and effective as I work with the tutee to problem solve. This would include going over similar examples to problems, carefully explaining the issues present, guiding the tutee towards correct habits, and making sure the tutee understands how they came to their conclusions.
Typical lesson plans involve going over the problems that are troubling the tutee. When there is an understanding of what is the issue then comes the point where we address what changes can be made and how to implement them. Afterwards, review of the implemented changes occurs to make sure the tutee understands why the implementations work or if they need to be revised further. If the original changes are understood we move on further and repeat. If the changes need to be revised we would start over and reanalyze the work until the tutee felt comfortable in their own abilities.
The main aspect that sets me apart from others is the availability and ease of communication. I have been tutoring for a few years and even been tutored as well. So, I am more understanding of both perspectives and make sure the tutee doesn't feel as though they can't have a voice. I feel it is important that the tutee feels as comfortable as possible when getting tutored since it can be a vulnerable experience when someone tries to offer critique.
The main level I tutor is high-school through undergraduate. Particularly, students who need help with their creative writing, essay writing, and reading comprehension.
