About Anna

Ciao! My name is Anna and I have been lucky to study in Italy for three years while completing my bachelor’s degree in product design. I lived in Milan, the ‘Northern capital’ of Italy and enjoyed my time immensely visiting museums, galleries, and even design fairs! While living there, I made it my goal to speak Italian whenever I had the chance, as my course was taught in English. Everywhere else, I tried to communicate in Italian to the best of my abilities and, to my surprise, people were very encouraging of my efforts (and forgiving of any errors!). This made it way easier in immersing myself in the culture and society. Italians are a very social crowd, and they have transformed conversation into an art form. I have been learning languages since I was little (bilingual from birth!), and I would really enjoy helping someone improve their language skills, as for me, a new language is a door into a whole new world.

About the lesson

Have you ever wished to communicate better with locals when you are holiday-making in Italy? Improved communication enhances the quality of your holiday, while the locals are extremely grateful for making an effort to speak in their native language (and forgiving even if you make a grammatical error)! Italian is a beautiful and the most melodic language in the world (proven fact!) and I already feel like on holiday just when speaking it! Learning a few key phrases and verbs, as well as a little improvement in the enunciation will make you sound like a local! In the lesson, we would dedicate an equal amount of time to grammar and vocabulary, as well as to listening and speaking part, which is crucial in real-time communication! Nothing improves learning a new language, than a live conversation. I have had the experience many times, the rush of addressing someone in Italian and not knowing how it would go, which is part of the fun! I would tailor themes to your preferences (whether it is food, weather, travel or anything else you might be interested in), as well as introduce you to a few musicians, films and other cultural figures that will enhance your understanding of Italian culture and Italian language itself!
