About the lesson

I’ve had the privilege of teaching math across a range of grade levels, from elementary to high school, which has allowed me to adjust my approach to fit the unique needs of each group. In the elementary grades, I focused on building strong foundational skills in areas like addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. I found that making math fun and interactive was key, so I used games, hands-on activities, and visual aids to engage students and help them understand concepts in an approachable way. It was important to me that students felt confident in their abilities, so I worked hard to create a positive and supportive learning environment.

When I transitioned to teaching middle and high school math, I had the opportunity to dive deeper into more complex topics like algebra, geometry, and calculus. I prioritized fostering critical thinking and problem-solving skills, encouraging my students to approach math with curiosity and perseverance. I integrated real-world applications into my lessons to show students how math connects to their everyday lives. My goal was always to meet students where they were, providing differentiated instruction to support those who needed extra help and challenge those who were ready to push their skills further.
