About Jzan
My favorite part of teaching English as a Second Language is that I can meet people from all different backgrounds. I stress my lessons on cultural experiences and habits that will be useful in the real world. I am Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) certified, and have 2 years of experience teaching in the classroom and online. I have worked under college professors in Meiji Gakuin University in Japan and worked with France Education International as a Teaching Assistant. I have taught over 500 students from the ages of 11 to 20 years old and have loved teaching each grade level. I adjust my lessons per language level to make it easier and more fun for the students to learn.

My favorite way of teaching is connecting with students and using strategies that push them forward to utilize what they learned in their everyday lives.
For example, for beginning students, I create an open and comfortable space that encourages students to participate. Asking them for their interests so I can have lessons relate to what they like to increase motivation and communication.
For advanced students I love involving cultural and modern topics into the classroom, such as showing a real-world perspective presentation and using that as a central topic of conversation and analysis. This is where students have the freedom to share their opinions in the language and practice their critical thinking in English.
