About Steve
Hi I’m Steve. I am a senior at Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology, and will be attending the University of Michigan - Ann Arbor to study Computer Science in the fall.
My tutoring journey began at Mathnasium, where I spent a year honing my teaching skills. There, I had the privilege of working with students from kindergarten to 12th grade, covering topics ranging from basic arithmetic to advanced Precalculus, as well as SAT Math preparation. In my role, I provided both one-on-one tutoring sessions and guided small groups of up to four students. This diverse experience allowed me to adapt my teaching approach to meet the individual needs and learning styles of each student, whether they required foundational support or sought to excel in advanced concepts.
Throughout my tutoring experience, I've found that establishing a supportive and engaging learning environment is key to student success. By tailoring my explanations to each student's level of understanding and employing interactive methods to reinforce concepts, I strive to empower students to not only grasp the material but also develop problem-solving skills and a genuine enthusiasm for learning. Looking forward to continuing my journey as an educator, I am committed to helping students unlock their full potential and achieve their academic goals.

Lessons are for middle or high schoolers trying to get ahead of catch up in math. A typical lesson starts with the student telling me what he wants to work on 24 hours before the class. I will prepare material for the student, and we will work on it together, teaching him along the way. I can also provide homework help.
