About Troy
I am a University of West London graduate I spent my late high school years in Gloucestershire, surrounded by agriculture, horse-riding and sports like football and rugby as I was studying sports science at Hartpury College. I have several interests from video games, to animated art such as Anime and various modes of art. Huge interest in sports, particularly football and travel as I have travelled to 14 countries and aim to travel the world to experience all different types of cultures this world has to offer!

My approach to tutoring is student-centred and interest-driven, using each student’s personal interests to highlight the real-life value and importance of learning a new language. By incorporating topics they genuinely enjoy—such as hobbies, goals, or career aspirations—I make lessons engaging, meaningful, and relevant. I aim to ensure students enjoy each lesson and build an emotional connection to the language, which can spark a natural desire to practise and use it in other areas of their lives. I begin by identifying each student’s level and objectives, then tailor sessions to their needs and learning style. I use clear explanations, guided practice a lot of interactive discussion, and regular review to support steady progress and confidence. Lessons typically last 60 minutes. I have experience teaching beginners aged 13 to 21 at various English-speaking levels, and I adapt my pace and methods to ensure every student feels supported, motivated, and capable of success.
