About Ruby

I am a current Speech and Language Therapy Master's student. I have tutored GCSE English students in the past, as well as working as a teaching assistant at a special educational needs school. Throughout my time at secondary school, I had a maths tutor who I saw weekly for 3 years, who provided a safe space for me to get answers wrong and ask questions that may have seemed 'silly' to my peers. As a tutor myself, I want to provide a safe and comfortable space for my pupils to grow in their academic ability, as well as in their confidence. I am always willing to tailor my lessons to my pupils and what they find 'fun', and their learning style preferences. I look forward to working with you!

About the lesson

I want to create enjoyable and stress-free sessions for students. I want to focus on enhancing the skills you feel comfortable and confident in, while supporting and exploring the skills or areas you may not understand quite so well. My sessions will be 45 - 90 minutes depending on preference. While I was studying for my A-levels I was a GCSE English Language Tutor. I have spent the past year working as a Teaching Assistant at a SEN school. My experience both academically and professionally has nurtured me to become a supportive and patient individual, willing to listen, learn and expand my skills. My first session will begin with us getting to know each other, knowing what you might struggle with and what you hope to get out of these sessions.
