About Dermot
I’m a Computer Science graduate from the University of Sheffield with a strong academic background in Maths and Computer Science. At A-Level, I studied Maths, Further Maths, Computer Science, and Physics which gave me a solid understanding of both mathematical theory and problem-solving. I have experience tutoring students taking their GCSEs and A-Levels, including tutoring while completing my own A-Levels, which helps me relate to students and explain concepts in a clear, easy way. I aim to create a supportive learning environment where students can build confidence, strengthen their understanding, and improve their exam performance.

My lessons are structured, supportive, and tailored to each student’s needs. We will start by identifying strengths and areas for improvement, then focus on building understanding step by step. I use clear explanations, worked examples, and practice questions to reinforce learning. For exam-focused students, I place strong emphasis on exam technique, common mistakes, and how to pick up full marks. Lessons are interactive and paced to suit the student, with regular check-ins to make sure concepts are fully understood before moving on.
