About Jeffrey

Hello! My name is Jeff, and thank you for coming to my profile.

I would love to help you learn whatever you need help with - everything from basic arithmetic and counting, to the GCF of two numbers, to quantifying motion using kinematics and Newton's laws; whatever you need - I am there to serve you. Or even if you like to cook, we can talk about that too.

I completed my degree in philosophy at the University of Dallas, a small school outside Dallas, Texas. While there, I studied the major paradigms of philosophy, was the vice-president of my freshman dorm hall, and wrote a thesis about the philosophy of music.

After graduating, I realized I still had an itch to study science. I decided to join the University of Colorado - Boulder (in my home state) and studied physics there. I tutored, worked with a professor to create homework help sessions, researched star forming fields with a telescope based in Sunspot, New Mexico, and took many math and computer science courses in addition to my physics classes.

I enjoy teaching, learning, getting to the bottom of things, and most of all helping others learn the things I have learned.

About the lesson

My approach is I want you to learn, so I let you do the heavy lifting. But I will guide you! “He who does the work does the learning.”

A typical lesson for me is first and foremost, covering what you want to cover. A question from class? A homework problem? A concept that you’re stuck on? More practice problems? Whatever you need, I am there to serve you.

If you let me take the lead, I will select practice problems that test the main concepts, so you can master them.

What sets me apart is that I have been tutoring for years, both online and in-person, both in a university setting and through 3rd party agencies. I know what methods to use, how to guide you, how to make the sessions fun, but I am still learning! I need you to give me feedback. I have tutored both individually as well as on a team.
