About Sam
I graduated from the University of Cambridge with a Starred First BA in History and an MPhil in World History, with a specialism in British Colonial and Indian history. I went to a state school and had to do quite a lot of independent study to achieve three A*s in my A Levels, meaning I have a good understanding of how to prepare for exams and coursework and achieve results. I am a good communicator, and have a wide-ranging knowledge of history which I think will make my lessons more interesting by linking the student's subjects to their wider historical significance, using insights and historical theories learnt in my degree.

I teach clear, curriculum based lessons in history which aim to address individual student needs, interests, and learning styles. Lessons can be as long or short as required, but hour-long lessons are recommended. I have experience in teaching undergraduate students at the University of Cambridge, and the format of my lessons is similar to the discursive, ideas-based supervision system at Cambridge, whilst staying focussed on exam performance and technique. I teach all ages from KS3 onwards, including GCSE and A Level students, and would be a particularly good tutor for any student looking to pursue a degree in history.
