About Eilis

I am 25 years old, living and working in London. I grew up in both London and Paris, loving nothing more than performing. For most of my life, I wanted to be an actor, but when it came to it, I decided there were so many more things I wanted to explore. I studied Theatre & Film at the University of Bristol and, since graduating, I have become involved and engaged with varying art forms, including pottery and percussive dance. Currently, I am working to save up money to go back to Brazil to live and work on a regeneration project. I went earlier this year and completely fell in love with the people, the culture, the music, the dancing, the food… and of course, the language!

About the lesson

I deliver my lessons online and one-to-one. My teaching style depends on you. How do you learn? Do you like traditional lessons? Or do you prefer something more interactive? Are you a scribble, visual or auditory learner? These are things we can explore in our first tutoring session together (and will continue to explore throughout our time together) to figure out the best way you can learn. Because that is what it is all about! Having had a lot of experience with learning languages myself, I will always encourage regular engagement with the language you are learning. Reading books, watching films or tv shows, listening to music or the radio, are all things that improve your sense and understanding of a language. I will set these tasks as homework. Yes, there is homework. Please let me know if you struggle with any learning difficulties. Everyone has the capacity to learn something new and my job as a tutor is to make that possible. Never be afraid to let me know if we’re going too fast, if we’re going too slow, if the exercises we’re doing aren’t helping… I am here to help. And to make learning fun!
