About Luke
I earned my degree in Music Performance from the University of Alabama, where I performed in a wide variety of ensembles and studied extensively with professional horn players and educators. My playing experience includes the University of Alabama Million Dollar Band, Carolina Crown Drum and Bugle Corps, the University of Alabama Wind Ensemble and Huxford Symphony Orchestra, and performances at Carnegie Hall.
I’ve been fortunate to learn from some incredible musicians throughout my own journey, and I’m excited to pass that knowledge on to the next generation of horn players

Hi, I’m Luke!
I’m a professional horn player and graduate of the University of Alabama, and I love helping students discover what makes the French horn such a fun and rewarding instrument.
My approach to teaching is built around strong fundamentals, practical practice habits, and most importantly making music enjoyable. Every student is different, so I adjust lessons to fit their experience, personality, and goals. Whether you’re completely new to the horn, trying to make your school band’s top ensemble, preparing for an audition, or simply looking to become a better player, we’ll build a plan that works for you.
What do lessons look like?
We’ll usually start with a warm-up to work on things like breathing, tone, flexibility, and articulation. From there, we’ll work on scales, technical exercises, etudes, and music appropriate for your level. I’ll also help you identify why something is difficult and give you specific tools to fix it rather than simply telling you to practice it more.
I want students to leave each lesson knowing what they’re working on, why it matters, and exactly what they can do during the week to improve.
Who are lessons for?
I teach beginner through advanced students, including middle school and high school students, students preparing for auditions and honor bands, students interested in pursuing music in college, and anyone who simply wants to improve on the horn.
Most importantly, you don’t have to be an expert to take lessons. If you’re excited about learning and willing to put in some consistent practice, I’d love to help you become a stronger, more confident musician.
