About Taylor
Professionally, I hold a current Ohio teaching license for English/Language Arts grades 7-12 and have additional experience teaching gifted ELA classes to 6th graders. I am passionate about reassurance and encouragement, helping students realize their full potential. I also recognize that academics can be stressful and frustrating for many, so I aim to practice patience during all of my sessions.
Outside of the classroom, I love to write poetry in local coffee shops, sing and dance while racking up my Spotify minutes, and watch movies with my cuddly cat, Willow.

As a former permanent guest teacher, I love getting to know my students and help them learn in as efficient a manner as possible. I believe the key to unlocking difficult concepts is connecting them to personal interests, so my lessons are not only informative but personalized to each individual.
A typical, hour-long session will begin with some form of creative warm-up, that I will participate in alongside my student, to get our minds along the same path. Afterward, we will identify some strengths and weaknesses as well as set some goals for the session. The rest of our time together will look different depending on the individual, but often, we practice concepts using sample texts in a scaffolded structure.
I specialize in teaching adolescents, ages 10-20, and I am happy to help students in both academic and creative pursuits.
