About MeiQing

I have more than 6 years of experience tutoring, out of which, more than 2 years have been done online. I try my best to understand every student’s needs and cater the teaching style accordingly. I believe every student has their potential to excel.

About the lesson

I graduated from National University of Singapore with a Bachelor's Degree of Science. I am very well-versed with the Singapore education system, which has been producing the best people in Mathematics. I have scored 'A's for Mathematics from Primary School, all the way to University. I graduated from National Junior College with 'A' in Mathematics C and went on to major Statistics in University.
I am currently teaching students from all over the world - Singapore, Hong Kong, China, Vietnam, Myanmar and Malaysia, catering my lessons to their syllabus (MOE SG, AEIS, IGCSE/ GCSE, IB).

I have conducted 1-to-1 home tuition for students from Primary 1 to Secondary 5, improving their Mathematics results immensely, and most importantly, increasing their interest in the subject. I believe that it is the teacher's job to make concepts come to life, clarify any doubts a student has, and be very patient in answering every question. A teacher has to be aware of every student's specific weaknesses in the subject and I understand how this is not impossible in a classroom setting. A private 1-to-1 tuition is meant to cater for an individual student's needs, to have all the time and attention on him/ her. Most importantly, the student needs to feel he/ she has the support from the tutor, not just in the academic subject, but life in general.

Through my years of tutoring students and training adults, I believe that implementing a holistic approach to teaching is the most effective in bettering my students' grades. I believe in befriending my students to provide a friendly environment. This way, rapport and trust are built. Lessons become engaging and productive, where students learn. It is part of my job to get them to love the subjects they hate. I have handled students from all walks - those who would not sit still, who could not focus, and I have also handled students who do not speak up. I have my creative ways of dealing with such situation :) At the current COVID-19 situation, I have moved all my lessons online and will probably continue this way in the foreseeable future. In fact, I enjoy the efficiency from both ends to simply login and get started!
