About Elliott
I graduated from the International Baccalaureate program in Thailand at the International School of Bangkok. This was an extremely rigorous program which featured intense math classes. My mother is a pre-kindergarten teacher and worked with her as a teacher’s assistant, helping the students to frequently learn very basic math skills. At the upper level, I tutored IB math students for their exams throughout my time at the International School of Bangkok. I lived in a town called Nichada Thani and was frequently referred to by other students and eventually became very well-known in the community as a math tutor. I really liked working with middle school math students so this became my specialty.

My students come to me with subjects they struggle with and explain which aspects of the mathematics are particularly difficult for them. If they are learning multiple units in school, I ask they provide me with their general syllabus as provided by their teacher, if possible. My lesson, typically one to two hours long, consists of a set of questions which progressively build on one another that I have prepared beforehand.
I comprehensively explain each concept of the problem to my student then ask they attempt the problem with the knowledge provided. If they are unable I guide them through each step of the question, encouraging them to complete the next step in each problem. At the end of the lesson I provide the student with a practice set which covers each concept and type of question covered in the lesson. They may complete this with me in the lesson or at home by themselves. Either way I don’t make this set mandatory for the next lesson like homework, but rather another resource they may use to deepen their knowledge of any subject.
