About Jessica
I have worked within a tuition centre since 2023.
The majority of my students are GCSE Year 10s and Year 11s. I have also worked alongside A level students (although this is Literature only). Other year groups are welcome!
I am studying a Master's degree to become a Speech and Language Therapist. Within this degree, I have been trained to give effective prompts and cues to ensure students feel confident in themselves and their abilities.

Our first session will focus on me getting to know your academic strengths and weaknesses, discuss what your session priorities are, and a response to a short test based on your exam board.
Sessions last between 60 and 90 minutes depending on preference.
Providing a safe learning environment is essential for your performance, so I want to ensure that you feel comfortable and confident within our sessions.
My lessons tend to be visual such as teaching via whiteboards. I will provide resources like booklets, extracts, exam papers, and revision materials.
Language sessions will include:
- an overview of the paper
- in-depth annotations of a text
- establishing a structure to your response
- writing a response to exam style questions
Literature sessions can include:
- an overview of the paper / question
- theme-based revision
- character-based revision
- context-based revision
- writing a response to exam style questions
Independent learning is also important so there will be occasional homework tasks that will be marked within the following session. I do understand the workload of school and college so these tasks will be short and align with the school content.
